What's so good?

Perhaps my favorite release this year has been Joywave's 7777 mixtape, which features 11 tracks with familiar backing and unfamiliar vocals. In a moment of musical genius, the group of five essentially redid a number of samples to fit their sound (rather than taking the exact carbon copy). When factoring the layered original vocals, the end result is phenomenal.

Not sure whether you can believe it based on just today's track? Well then you'd best check out these two tracks we posted as SOTD back in March: Betelgeuse (Ft. Miike Snow and LCD Soundsystem) and Space Walk (Ft. Beach House and OneRepublic). If you like it, you can download the full album here. Also, this track will be featured as the B-side on an upcoming 7" to be released by the band (pre-order here).
