Julietta

Conquest

Sounds like: Banks, Lorde, Glass Animals
This is a sultry and seductive song that's oozing with cool, confidence, and sensuality.  New York artist Julietta, real name Julia Libani, is set to make tidal waves with a sound like this. Sure, there's plenty of competition in the world that is female-fronted electro-pop, but when it's this good - when you find a melody this satisfying, when you find a voice that husky, a rhythm that cool, you pay attention.  "Conquest" dives straight into the melody, while the instrumental layers snake around each other, bubbling away, creating a syncopated, constantly shifting atmosphere.  The melody really leads the way - Libani's voice waltzes between husky vixen and, later, the soaring angel. The brooding soundscape, coupled with lyrics like "It's not about the conquest, you little, little man," create a single that's as strong as it is sexy.  Listen to Julietta's EP, also titled Conquest, available now through Vitalic Noise.
