Kid Cudi rocketed to the top because his music did one thing really well: it brought hip-hop together with the “indie rock” scene — classics included (you can’t get much more classic than Bob Dylan). While not nearly as complex / well-done as J.Period and K’Naan’s Bob Dylan mixtape (here), Mr. Cudi has a knack for spitting mellow rhymes that don’t overwhelm the eardrums.
Cudi had a mixtape called A Man Named Scott in the works, but has decided to jettison that in favor of releasing his third album, Man On The Moon III. Unfortunately for us listeners, that one isn’t slated until Fall of 2012. Hold tight!
