The annual Laneway Tour is always one of the most anticipated festivals around – both for artist selection and the general vibe of the day. Over the next couple of weeks, the 7-date tour will work its way around Australia (with Singapore and Auckland already enjoying the typically diverse group of acts).
I usually struggle to pick my favorites for this festival, and this year has been the hardest (check out the full line-up!).
I’ve decided to pick my top 3 Australian and top 3 international acts. Surprisingly, tickets are still on offer – snap them up here.
The Leeds four-piece enjoyed a breakout year in 2012 on the back of their debut album, An Awesome Wave. With last year's Mercury Prize in the bag, this will be the band's second trip to Australia in the last year. This time will be especially special, after three of their tracks found their way into Triple J's Hottest100 countdown.

As much as I love Tame Impala, I still prefer POND live - especially with the berserk Nick Allbrook heading up the band. It's wonderful to see them finally receiving the credit this incredible band is due. They're not just a side-project anymore, they're a full-blown juggernaut.

The New Jersey natives will be a huge hit at the festival given their laid-back music. I am incredibly psyched to see them after missing them on their previous tour.

One of the most compelling artists to come out of Australia in a long time, Chet Faker is an absolute genius. Everything this man does turns to gold; his star is now starting to shine on a global level. Gush over.

Having played just ten shows in the past three years, Laneway Festival have pulled off an incredible coup to land Kings of Convenience. The Norwegian duo will be opening proceedings in Sydney... what a perfect start to a day.

The Brooklyn-based Aussie duo have just released their debut album Open Season, and the Laneway Tour is the perfect opportunity to debut their new, angelic material.
