What's so good?

After first gaining our attention with last year’s Uluwatu EP, Sydney’s New Navy are back again with a new single. Australian indie pop is at a premium at the moment, and New Navy is one of the best examples of the quality being produced.

“Regular Town” has been released at a perfect time with the Australian summer soon approaching. New Navy have become huge exponents of what I like to call “sparkling guitars,” and there’s no shortage of them on this track. What sound like a ukulele and maracas complete the tropical jamboree. It’s available digitally on Friday November 30 via their label, Future Classic.

New Navy were listed as a Triple J “Next Crop Artist” for 2012 (among the likes of San Cisco, Alpine and The Rubens) which highlights some of the bands bound for big things during the year. A lot of those on the list have already made incredible strides this year!
