After my weekly scrounge of Bandcamp, I came across an interesting find: Nonaphoenix. From what I understand, Nonaphoenix is the solo project of Jakub Andrew, who is the former lead singer of the popular Heyhihello!.
“Ghosts” is the debut single from Jakub, and on first listen it appears that Nonaphoenix is heading towards a more acoustic/folk pop sound this time round. Did I mention it features a banjo? One of the greatest instruments on the planet, I dare say.
While listening to this song, I can just imagine myself sailing across a river in a small boat with a man playing the banjo for me as we both drift away into the sunset.
Not sure what the future holds for Nonaphoenix but it’s certainly a bright one!
