What's so good?

I've a new obsession, and his name is Robert Ellis. Born in small town in Texas, Ellis began performing classic country tunes in 2010, gradually incorporating original material. Robert's latest album, Photographs, was in American Songwriters Top 50 Albums of 2011.

Luckily Ellis has a ton of live videos floating around; even to witness him playing via YouTube induces shivers. His songwriting is some of the best, most true form of the art I've heard in a long time. At only 22, he's building a catalog of classics.

"Friends Like Those" is the first single off Photographs and free for download. It's a touching narrative about memories, good friends, and moving on. Finger-style guitar, heartfelt lyrics, smooth vocals, and pedal steel guitar create an atmosphere so warm and cozy that you'll probably never want to leave.

Follow Robert via Facebook and be sure to check out his current tour dates.
