What's so good?

By | March 6th, 2013

Smith Westerns have been around since 2007. They are four piece band from Chicago, and their debut album, Smith Westerns, was a fantastic lo-fi garage rock work released in 2009. They cleaned up their sound in 2011, with Fat Possum Records releasing Dye It Blonde. With songs like “Weekend,” “Still New,” and “Dance Away,” that album was one of my favorites.

“Varsity” is their first single from upcoming next LP, Soft Will, due June 11, 2013 via Mom+Pop Records. It’s a good move for the band as they venture into powerful indie rock with great guitar and bass work. Looking forward to hearing more from their upcoming album!
