To date, three singles have been released of Stars’ upcoming album The North: “The Theory Of Relativity,” “Hold On When You Get Love And Let Go When You Give It” and now “Backlines.”
Clearly the third and most recent is my favorite, as none of the prior tracks made it to the esteemed status of Song of the Day.
That said, I’m still not blown away. The songs are vaguely interesting indie pop ballads, but seem to be lacking much of the concept that was so special about their 2004 album Set Yourself On Fire.
I guess we’ll have to wait until September 4th to get the full picture…
