The District Attorneys, a rock band from Atlanta, GA, have been gaining momentum around the Peach State since they came together in Athens in late 2009. With the release of their debut EP Orders From... last June, it’s been nothing but good times packed into these seven tracks. The EP is available on iTunes, as well as a free download and stream here.
Although The District Attorneys plant themselves in the South with hazy and fun-loving Southern rock, their dextrous arms touch base on California sunshine as well as the illustrious indie music scene of Chicago. Unsigned? These boys don’t need a label to emanate their light-hearted and upbeat tenor.
There’s something bleary and hypnotic about Orders From…, and closing Track “Jerry Ten” is the perfect recap for the EP as Drew Beskin bellows, “Won’t be nothin’ but a good time,” mid-verse. The weather’s getting warmer outside, and Orders From… is a timeless fit for your summer playlists.
The District Attorneys will send your ears straight to the slammer of indie rock, and why would you care? You’ll be having so much fun from the beginning, it can’t be legal.
