What's so good? By Lauren Sloss | Aug 10, 2011 | Total plays: 35,798
When considering the life and career of the fabulous Marilyn Monroe, things become dramatically darker in retrospect. Her blonde beauty and bubbly, comedic on-screen persona seem tragic when compared to her off screen struggles and untimely death.
So it feels appropriate that a cover of "One Silver Dollar," from her 1954 film River of No Return, should have serious evidence of the dark side; who better than The Kills to bring out the macabre in Marilyn?
Alison Mosshart's spooky-sexy voice gives the track just the right amount of weight, without taking away from the sweet simplicity of the track.
