What's so good?

By | November 30th, 2012

Right now the weather forecast has a prediction of steady downpour for the next ~5 hours. It looks like San Francisco’s 6-month “drought” (at least that’s what it seemed like) is coming to a vicious end. But hey, rain’s not all bad, right? It’s a great opportunity to stay warm inside.

Besides sitting fireside, music has always been one way I warm myself up. And The National’s 2007 album Boxer clearly fits the bill.

Fronted by Matt Berninger, the band’s baritone style and clean instrumentation have established them as one of the foremost melancholy indie rock groups out there. They haven’t hinted at any new releases since 2010′s High Violet, but I’m okay with that. Boxer is all I need.
