Iconic doesn’t really begin to describe Tine Turner and her gritty voice. 1984 saw the release of her famous “What’s Love Got To Do With It,” and it’s definitely a track which has weathered the years well.
Zimmer, a DJ and producer from Paris, has reworked Turner’s familiar track into a horizontal disco piece fit for any daytime fiesta. Using a beat beamed down from outer space, Zimmer lets the original melody shine through the washed out synths. Tina’s vocals soar throughout the five minutes, untouched. It’s a little funky, a lot electro, and all Tina – and who doesn’t love that?
