Denver tastemaker duo Action 52, after their flip of Kanye's "Love Lockdown," returns with a bouncy, nu disco twist of Twenty One Pilots' "Stressed Out." Their rendition, driven with crisp guitar licks, synth stabs, and accented with rich baselines, proves to be indie dance at its most infectious. Overflowing with kinetic energy, Action 52 makes good use of the source material's vocal practically making it chirp along with the bumping disco groove at the heart of their edit. This, along with the track's various callbacks to some of the best indie dance that has come out over the past decade, gives their work a very self-referential flair adding to its unpredictability and respect for the genre.
