Airling Ouroboros

Having spent the last few years performing as part of the now disbanded Charlie Mayfair (RIP) and then as in integral part of Emma Louise's touring band, Hannah Shepherd is ready to announce her solo project, Airling. Funny enough, she first started piecing Airling together when contributing vocals to Tom Iansek (of Big Scary) new album, with the two returning to the studio later on to record Hannah's work.

"Ouroboros" is Airling's first release, and if it's an indication of her future work, she should have branched out on her own a long time ago! The single is absolutely stunning from start to finish, with special attention paid to every aspect of its creation. Shepherd's gorgeous, wistful vocals are a clear highlight, and they're perfectly suited to the track's lush, dreamy production, which conjures up memories of acts like Beach House (and even some of Massive Attack and Morcheeba's slinkier work).

The first non-Big Scary-associated release signed to the band's label Pieater, big things can be expected of Airling. Let's hope there's further releases to follow in the near future!
