Why do we like this?

I am so happy to have discovered Alfa Mist. I heard of him initially through his soothing remix of RITUAL's' "Josephine," which was debuted on Indie Shuffle this week. The remix struck a chord and as a result introduced me to a very unique style of hip-hop coming out of East London.

Alfa Mist is a beatmaker and producer who released his first LP in July of 2015. The debut album is ultra-melodic, with spoken-word style prose bursting through the contribution of several talented artists. The song "Closer" in particular utilizes a jazzy piano riff along with a mellow bass-line that lets the poetic lyrics speak loudly.

With a couple verses from fellow UK rapper Lester Duval, this track is a hooking melodic journey boosted by the low-pitched, lyrical intelligence of the two rappers.
