Why do we like this?

The first ten seconds of this song trick you into thinking it's going to be a trap banger. Keep listening, and the track transforms itself into a buzzy, dark electro-pop production.

Alpines have been relatively quiet lately, with this being their first offering since 2014's Oasis. With "Completely," the duo- Catharine Pockson and Bob Matthews- lean more toward the smooth moodiness of "Cocoon" rather than the bubbly sound of "No Other Lover."

Pockson's yearning vocals pierce through the warbling down-pitched hip-hop sample to create a gloomy, emotive atmosphere. It's chilling and sensual, and shows that Alpines may be moving towards a more production-heavy side of things.
