Funkadelic Time Travel

A time-capsule of psychedelic sounds, eclectic narratives, and a funk momentum launches Animal Collective's new album, Time Skiffs, into the stratosphere.

"We Go Back" isn't only just a song with enough momentum to launch a rocket, it's also a homage to the psych-rock movement that made the track possible. A fast and erratic tempo keeps the sound not only entertaining but also super addictive. It then throws a spanner in the works, by suddenly pulling the momentum, leading to an ephemeral interlude that comes from nowhere and creates a deeply intimate psych-rock moment.

If you're not a fan of psych-rock this song will make you one, and if you are then this song will justify it.
