Somehow, I missed the brilliant London-based duo AZEDIA until this moment. Their sophomore album debuts next month, and this pair has been working hard on the release all of last year to follow up from their 2012 album.
"Kin" is the first single and title track of their release. The track is interesting, a hybrid of dance, house, and chillwave. Picking apart the track, there are many beautifully subtle elements beyond the mystic vocals and synths; stringed instruments, sporadic piano, and a delicate bass line add texture while the chorus of childlike hums seem to transcend the very moment we are in.
