Why do we like this?
A few months back, our reviewer (and electronic music aficionado) Gab brought us "Ninja," the debut single from Melbourne artist Banoffee. While the the song didn't initially click with me, it's really grown on me over time, so I was excited to hear new music from her. Luckily I didn't have to wait long, with her new single "Reign Down" released recently. This track was co-produced by fellow Melbourne native (and Indie Shuffle favorite) Oscar Key Sung.
A smooth, electronically charged R&B jam, "Reign Down" stuck with me straight away. The Oscar Key Sung collaboration makes perfect sense; the two artists have similar styles, both vocally and production-wise. There's a wonderful quirkiness to the way this song is crafted, but it's accessible enough to be enjoyed by the masses.
This track will feature on Banoffee's debut EP, slated in for release early in the new year.
