Why do we like this?

Shortly after moving to South Africa in October of last year, I had the pleasure of meeting the young lads behind Beatenberg at a live show. I'd heard plenty about them at that point, particularly given that their collaboration with DJ Clock was the #1 song in the country at the time. Still, getting to hear a full selection of their repertoire was a wonderfully pleasant experience.

Flash forward about 9 months -- now finding myself enjoying the American summer -- and the band have released a brand new single by the name "Rafael." The timing of such an upbeat release may seem odd given that it's dead winter in South Africa, but from the sunny state of California, this couldn't be more appropriate.

The song will be part of the band's upcoming album The Hanging Gardens of Beatenberg, due in August of this year. In the meanwhile, if you'd like to get a copy of this track, you can head over to iTunes.
