Sounds like: Big Thief, Sufjan Stevens, Laura Marling,
This is an exciting one that reminds me of indie music from the early 2000s. It's emotive, unique, and captivating.
The vocals — from the duo as well as the featuring artist, Tessa Rose Jackson — are smooth, the instrumentals are intricate, and the lyricism is right up my alley: wonderfully abstract, with the ability to come to life in the mind of anyone who listens. Lines such as “Does a lonely garden bloom for a lifetime?” stand out.
“It’s about endings that aren’t sad—just strange and beautiful. You’re not mourning something, you’re honouring it. There’s joy in moving on.” — Bloody Tourist
The release of "Goodbye 79" teases Bloody Tourist's debut album, Love Was a Big Thing, due later this year, and best believe my ears and eyes will be peeled for the release.
