For the first time in 18 years, soulful singer Bobby Womack is releasing a full-length album titled The Bravest Man In The Universe. On this album we have already had the pleasure of being introduced to "Please Forgive My Heart," and today we are getting a fresh slice of the pie with "Dayglo Reflection," a soulful ballad featuring our beloved songstress Lana Del Rey.
The jazzy number opens with an audio clip of soul pioneer Sam Cooke dropping some brief bits of insight that mentally sets the tone for the rest of the song. Once "Dayglo Reflection" actually commences, it offers us a minimalist approach to its production with simple piano melodies and restrained percussions. As soon as Womack's soulful vocal baritone collides with Lana's syrupy vintage vibratos, the two co-exist and feed off of one another flawlessly creating a song that is sweet candy to the ears.
