Back from what seemed like an eternal break Cage The Elephant are back with a new album titled Social Cues for 2019. The first single of the album was released yesterday, giving us a glimpse into the promised land of their new material.
Full of their trademark fuzzy guitars washed over with bright reverbs that work in sync with pulsating drums and a punchy bass line. Matt Shultz contrasts the overall cheery vibe of the track with his seemingly wistful lyrics that focus around his pensive acceptance of transitions in life. The well structured nature of the song allows these two moods to work in harmony adding another dimension to the track the more you listen.
This is another solid Cage The Elephant single and fingers crossed the rest of the album follows suit!
