Australian producer Charles Murdoch's new single "Straws" is absolutely stunning track, and I'm so glad that I get to share it with you.
"Straws" opens with an ambient organ soundscape, interspersed with whispers and a beat that infuses ever so slowly throughout the introductory minute. As the beat drops and the full atmosphere takes shape, it's like entering a cavernous and endless plain of sounds, tones, and both electronic and organic layers. Despite feeling so musically dense, each layer gives off such a delicate, intricate feel. The track continues to change and build as it progresses, pulling you along through the musical plains at a cool, comfortable pace.
The track is accompanied by a beautiful video, shot in Germany. It follows the story of a sexually-repressed skinhead named Pete, and is reportedly one of a three-part series.
