Why do we like this?
It's called "The Hamptons," but it sounds more like Shinjuku on a rainy night. This track is off the second installation of Soulection's White Label Series, which features relaxing combos from one of the best labels out there. The tracks on this EP reached more than 100K plays in five days, so you know their stuff is fresh.
With sliced-and-diced vocals plus wavy beats, Montreal's Da-P has got that feel-good style that'll appeal to all electronic soul fans. He's got some great tracks up on SoundCloud, with remixes of both legendary ladies Mary J. Blige and Erykah Badu -- just a taste of his hustle. Great listens up and down, but you can even download this album for free!
Major props to Soulection, who continue to do incredible work on a weekly basis. There's the recent collab that culminated in Label Love (an awesome jazz piece) plus the continuation of this #WhiteLabelFriday series, which spotlights forward-thinking EPs like Da-P. I also hear they're now getting lots of love from Japan. You know you've made it when you're big in Japan.
