Why do we like this?

The new single, "Burn It Down," by Daughter comes before the release of their new album, Music from Before the Storm. It's an original soundtrack written for the game, Life is Strange: Before the Storm. 

It's a pretty cool track that sounds like the musings of an angsty teen with lyrics like 'Now the world is only white noise / Frequencies that I can’t understand / I can’t be bothered with the teachers / Always trying to shape the way I act / Burn it down.' The words 'burn it down' are sung over and over in what feels like an expanding sonic universe that smashes the heart like any good Daughter song.
