Why do we like this?

David August returns with a new single "D’ANGELO" following his ambient record DCXXXIX A.C., which was released in March. It’s a much anticipated release since his last LP in 2013 and the announcement of his extensive European tour later this year.

Renowned for his innovative blend of organic electronica, house, and down-tempo techno, his latest release features leading vocals (assumably his own), a welcome addition alongside the dusty rhodes lead. After his densely soundscaped ambient album from earlier this year I was worried we going to lose David August to the experimental sphere but this single marks a triumphant return to his signature style of IDM.

The Album D’Angelo is out October 5th via PIAS.
