Why do we like this?

Day Wave caught my attention for their brand of simple surf-rock. That, and the fact that the man behind the project is also part of group Carousel.

Given the latter piece of information, the sound may actually come to you as a bit of a surprise. You see, Carousel are a synth-pop act with a distinct (and sometimes repetitive) approach to music -- something a bit more like Joywave than Real Estate.

In light of that, I actually find this to be quite refreshing, even if it is remarkably simple. Here's to keeping our ears peeled for the next single.
