How sick is it that Toronto-based Death From Above 1979 are reuniting for Coachella? Sure, you might not have known that. And maybe you're not familiar with the group. But trust me, it's sick.
Besides that, there's not much I can say. So I'll leave you with the story behind the date in their name (which was added after James Murphy of LCD Soundsystem complained they were using his old band name, Death From Above):
The reason for the seemingly arbitrary date of 1979 comes from Sebastien Grainger's birth date. Sebastian responded to being asked why they chose 1979 by saying "1979 is the year of my birth, 1979 is the year of Off the Wall, 1979 is the year of The Pleasure Principle, 1979 is the last year of the last cool decade, 1979 is scratched into my arm, 1979 is scratched into my arm, 1979 is scratched into my fucking arm."
Pretty straight-forward, and a glimpse into the band's attitude.
And then they broke up in 2006. Boo! Now they're back together. Yay!
