Why do we like this?
Usually when an MC works with an R&B singer, it's a pretty standard affair. Rap, sung chorus, rap, sung verse, rap. The collaboration is already bound to preconceived standards of the role each artist should play. When Sene first mentioned to me that he was starting to work with singer Denitia Odigie, I expected a standard affair.

The actual result was much more interesting. Instead of the usual, the duo built a sound of their own from scratch. Taking from the best of their respective genres and developing ideas together from the ground up, the Brooklyn pair found their stride quickly with joints like "Blah Blah Blah" and "Casanova." Both songs were featured on an EP that was on Bandcamp, but was taken down soon after for re-mixing (as in mixing the audio again, not throwing DJ Khaled and Ace Hood on it).

The re-engineered EP was recently released  on iTunes with this bonus tune, "Trip.Fall." The hazy track builds off a sublime, looping harmony and stuttering drums. The EP is a great example of the pair's now signature blend of R&B and minimal electronic sounds filtered through a hip-hop lens.
