Why do we like this?
"Zero Summer" is the second single from Dirty Nice, a project that seems to be based in the UK (featured on BBC Introducing last year, releasing through Bristol-based Chiverin) but has otherwise kept mum on more biographical details. Fine by me - the music's doing all the smooth talking.
Those gentle synthy swells, chrome-finished melodies, a bit of warm lonely piano thrown in there - it all makes this track seep into the brain like a soul-cleansing electro elixir. Kind of feels like cruising through the sky in a lowrider Cadillac made of purple clouds and powered by incense, in my studied professional opinion.
Ready your dopamine receptors and be on the lookout for more Dirty Nice tunes to come.
