Elephant Stone - Heavy Moon

Why do we like this?

Elephant Stone is a band that just recently popped up on my radar. The Montreal-based psych-pop group was formed in 2009, so maybe I'm just out of the loop. Elephant Stone also released their debut album, The Seven Seas, in 2009. They've since dropped an EP and played shows all across Europe and the UK.

Elephant Stone is currently readying the release of their sophomore LP. Until that day arrives, check out the band's latest single, "Heavy Moon." One funny genre tag I've seen associated with Elephant Stone is "Hindie-rock." I can get on board with that, especially after hearing this track.

Fun fact: Elephant Stone's sitarist/bassist/founding member Rishi Dhir is one of the most highly sought out sitar players in the psychedelic music scene. For further proof, peep this photo of Rishi with indie overlord Beck.
