Feki first came to my attention about a year ago when I was introduced to him through his incredible Glass Animals remix. In the months since, the Brisbane artist has gone from strength to strength, amassing a loyal online following with his emotive and dance-floor ready productions.
"Quiet Minds" begins with glistening, watery ambience. Featured vocalist Emily's melody is deliberate and drawn out, and for some reason it evokes an image of mermaids singing underwater (don't ask me why). The minute-long intro gently transitions when the beat kicks in, managing to not let go of that heavenly, almost supernatural atmosphere.
While Feki is perhaps better known for his many remixes, collectively earning many millions of SoundCloud plays, his original work is just as wonderful -- fingers crossed we'll be hearing more soon.
