It Was a Good Year

FOALS go full-on with their funk inspirations in this alt-rock funk fest.

A loving marriage between alt-rock and funk delivers an anthem of joyful recklessness. It's a track that goes up and then immediately drops you back down — a trampoline of joy and jubilation. It's got that sundowner rock sound, but it injects a high-energy funk-rock that deserves to be praised.

It's probably the happiest track of the week and it's just as rock heavy as any mainstay in the alt-rock spectrum.
