Fontaines D.C. pack their sunglasses, leather jackets, and sharp nostalgic energy for the Primavera Sound Festival in Barcelona, and I cannot wait to scream "Favourite" from the front row. Fontaines D.C. have had my heart since "Starburster" made me feel like the coolest person walking through the mall—dodging bodies and trying on every style of sun-protective gear I could find. Primavera Sound has had their eyes on them since the release of their debut album Dogrel in 2019. With a four-album-deep stack of sounds, ranging from college rock to stadium anthem nostalgia, there’s a lot to look forward to in their set on the 8th of June, 2025, in Barcelona. "Favourite" is a phenomenal introduction and throwback to what Fontaines D.C. pride themselves on: self-reflective, loud tracks that you can't help but get lost in—pure home video memories. Primavera Sound, in all its ge nre-smashing glory, will run from the 4th to the 8th of June in Barcelona, and I cannot wait to feel the sweat of moving to Fontaines D.C. on my brow.
