Why do we like this?

Sometimes we're a bit slower to the uptick, and GEMS just happens to be one such case. Granted, I've listened to their tracks repeatedly, but for some reason I just never shared them.

Fortunately, that's changing now: "Sinking Stone" deserves more attention, and I feel compelled to escalate it all the way to Song of the Day.

Cearly I'm not the only one to recognize how great this song actually is: countless blogs have covered the track over the last three months, and as I'm writing this the song is about to eclipse 100,000 plays on SoundCloud. An even stronger testament: new single "Medusa" released only 8 days ago has a similar number of plays.

Perhaps this isn't a new discovery for you, but if it is, be sure to follow the Washington DC-based band on SoundCloud.
