Ghost Beach - Tear Us Apart

Why do we like this?
Earlier this year, Ghost Beach made a splash with their lead single "Miracle." The infectiously poppy track was followed up shortly thereafter by the songs "Been There Before" and "Tear Us Apart."

So, it only makes sense that today the releases culminate in a brand new, 5-track EP titled Modern Tongues.

Clocking in at around 20 minutes, the EP seems to hit the perfect length for their style. Strongly reminscent of Passion Pit, the falsetto vocals are both attention-grabbing and piercing. It's this reason that I'm guessing the band has a bit of a love-hate relationship with listeners.

I'll give you two examples:

- When I reviewed the second single "Been There Before," I gave it a slight critique. This was met be one of the harshest backlashes I've seen from a fanbase

- Comments on the single "Miracle" include "still can't figure out if this is a joke" and "music should not be allowed to be this happy under any circumstances"

Bottom line is that Ghost Beach has grabbed the attention of not just bloggers, but also listeners. And that's clearly a sign that they're doing something right.
