This one is a forever favorite. When I first heard the Cosmic Kids remix of this song in 2012, I loved it so much that I had to hear the original. At the time, Giselle was already a familiar name, having provided the vocals and lyrics for Flight Facilities' breakout track "Crave You" in 2010.
Australian singer-songwriter Giselle, last name Rosselli, has the voice of an angel and plays several instruments, including the xylophone. "Silk" was her first solo release back in April 2012, and it is absolutely gorgeous. Her vocals, soft and smooth like silk, over warm, dreamy instrumentals are nothing short of magical, not to mention the poetic lyrics. I can't help being lulled into a mesmerizing calm every time.
Over the past year, Giselle has been working on her first album, which she described early on as "a tangible dream...one step from the delirious sort." I'm looking forward to it with high anticipation.
