Soft to start before Billie-Eilish-meets-Feist vocals begin to tell the story of believing in one's self. Percussion teases as the song builds and slows, never quite allowing the listener to know where we are being taken. GOLDEN's Bailey Cooke is in control and she will take us wherever it is that she chooses.
Around the halfway mark, the song really comes together and it's clear why this classically trained pianist and songwriter has been named an artist to watch in 2021 by a couple of outlets.
"Never Too Late" marks GOLDEN's first release of 2021, and this, in conjunction with the fact that my interest was already piqued by 2020's "Eye," leaves me feeling that I might be writing about more of her tracks going forward.
