Why do we like this?

For the majority of our readers, you'll be readying yourselves for the warmer months of the year. But, for those in the southern hemisphere, summer is quickly turning into a distant memory. This is the case for Gold Coast musician GOVS (Josiah Birrell), who has just released a new single paying homage to the season.

"Australian Summer" is definitely a new direction for GOVS, who has previously wooed us with his dream folk stylings. This latest release however, features him using a lot more electronics than we're used to -- but the results are just as gorgeous.

Birrell creates an incredibly lush soundscape that suits his gentle vocals arrangements to a tee. It really does sound exactly like our summers: humid, lazy and sunny.

Unlike most of you, I really don't enjoy summer, but this one is making me rethink my opinion.
