Why do we like this?

Gramatik is a producer based out of Slovenia, probably best known for a hip-hop remix he did of Led Zeppelin.

Aside from the aforementioned remix, I have to confess that I didn't really listen to any of his other work.

However, a friend recently played me Beatz & Pieces, Vol. 1, immersing me in an album of jazzy hip hop that cuts up old samples, wacks in some oozing bass and some trumpets, and lets the listener sit back and relax -- which is always pretty awesome.

It's probably about time Gramatik gets a bit more recognition for his music, so make sure you check out the album (which is being given away free)!
