Why do we like this?

The release of Sydney-based producer Guerre's debut album, Ex Nihilo, has been one of my most anticipated records of the year. Having already reviewed the two brilliant singles "Deatheat" and "Tuk," the wait for the record is now over.

To celebrate the release date, we've been treated to a remix of current single "Tuk" from the prolific Ta-ku. In typical fashion, the Perth producer has built a smooth soundscape around Guerre's stellar rhythmic arrangement. While I'm still all for the slightly dark, thudding original, this is an excellent re-interpretation.

Guerre is the ultimate producer's producer, and has put together an album of sheer quality. Ex Nihilo has already shot into my favorite local releases of the year. You can purchase it here.
