Hubert Clark Junior Pure Brita Water (Filtered Juice)

Hugh isn't a particularly common name, but over the past few months, I've been amazed at how many Hughs (or Huws) I've come across in the music industry. Even stranger, all of them are connected in some way to the Australian electronic music scene, and I've just come across another one of our kind in Sydney producer Hubert Clarke Junior.

While there's hardly any background information available for me to share with you, his music -- including his debut EP Filtered Juice  -- speaks for itself. Lush beats with a definite jazz/hip-hop influence are fused with expert sampling and well-placed vocal cuts, creating some seriously smooth soundscapes. He's spent some time in London, and there's a clear international feel to the way he's crafted his work.

While "Pure Brita Water (Filtered Juice)" is probably the standout, the entire EP is well worth a listen; you can grab it as a "name your price" download on Bandcamp. A little birdie also let me know that there's a second EP on the way, so make sure to keep an eye out for more goodness from this talented artist.
