Why do we like this?
In the mood for some doo-wop? I hope so because Idiot Glee is the epitome of that. Stemming from Kentucky's Bluegrass Region, James Friley is a unique brand of dreamy piano-pop, gaining a strong following locally and elsewhere. His new album, Paddywhack, is plucked from another time. You won't want to pass this up.

Rewind back to an obscure 50s or 60s dance formal. Idiot Glee's album would define the night without a doubt. But it's a newly defined genre of doo-wop. This is essentially a one-man band but sounds like maybe a five or six piece band thanks to many rhythmic loops and layering and the proper tasteful construction and knowledge to obtain a vintage allure. Whether it's a spooky build-up or a dance-pop ballad, this album will have you snapping your fingers in no time.

So if you're ever craving a nostalgic kick back to a time when things were simpler and a bit more innocent, give Idiot Glee's Paddywhack a listen. Oh, and don't forget your bubblegum.
