Lodet Calling

I'm proud to feature debut single, "Calling," from Swedish singer-songwriter, lodet (Joakim Bjornberg). The quickness on the keys, fuzzy vocals, and joyful energy on this track drew me in. He initially released solely the demo and drew attention from singer-songwriter and producer, Matthew E. White. As the founder of the independent label, Spacebomb Records, Matthew helped record lodet’s forthcoming EP, Many Days.

lodet said this about the track:

'Calling' originated from a long studio jam in 2018 in Stockholm. The song is like a whistling call for someone. I had been working on it for years but with this latest recording it has taken on a new meaning. It is about my unborn child, and not knowing much of what the future holds. In the verse I sing about Luka, which was the only name my girlfriend and I could agree on. It was important to me to include that name in the text so that I would always remember that early feeling.

Optimistic and psychedelic, lodet has found his calling in music. Note: the nice sliding guitar goin' on in the background. The subtle and intricate weaving of instrumental layers has added wonderful dimension to the track; you notice something new every time you listen.
