Why do we like this?

This is the second time I've written about NYC-based Iska Dhaaf in the space of a week, but can you blame me? They have just released new single "Say What You Want," which follows on from previous singles "Lost" and "Invisible Cities" off their upcoming sophomore album The Wanting Creature.

"SWYW" is Iska Dhaaf's most electronic leaning track yet, and sees the band utilize 808s and seductive electronic shifts, effortlessly blending R&B elements with flares of shoegaze and indie rock.

The lyrics are instantly relatable to anyone struggling in a relationship, while haunting piano melodies and intricate vocal harmonies create a beautiful gloss that enables the track to transcend typical genre norms. The result is a wonderfully textured and innovative piece of music -- possibly my favourite track yet from the talented duo.
