Why do we like this?
Confidence is an elixir through which an artist can create whatever the hell they want, and we are obliged to take their creativity seriously. For this reason, I present to you "SuperPowers."
On first listen, I was disappointed, but knew it wasn't the music that was lacking. After hearing Jack's debut "Cat Gotcha Tongue?!," I was unconsciously expecting an identical twin. This track is more sophisticated than the first single; it's a nostalgic, new-wave mini-movie "” a mashup of 80s-influenced scores, facetious funk, and dazzling turns in conclusion.
"SuperPowers" almost feels too confident for a debut EP, like the work of a super producer who has a past to pull from coupled with the wisdom to push boundaries. Either way, Magma is one to watch and you can hear what's next from upcoming An Electric Purple by following him on SoundCloud.
