Why do we like this?
I’ve never taken a psychedelic, but I imagine this song sort of feels like one. As you listen, you feel like you're floating far above somewhere far away or outside of your body.
The way the piano carries throughout the song is beautiful, but the steady addition of strings creates more of a classical sound. It’s like combining the old and the new, the traditional with the electronic elements. And it causes the song to teeter over the line between gospel and haunting.
The instrumentals feel as mystical as the lyric’s existential message. The England-based artist ponders reality through a stream of poetic stanzas that could be analyzed in the same way as other works you may study in a literature class.
