Why do we like this?

James Hersey released his Pages EP a few days ago, an incredible selection of songs including a proper release of "Coming Over," a song that he's had around for quite a while now, and one of my favorite songwriting pieces of all time.

Additionally the EP houses his two singles released in the past few months "Miss You" and "Everyone's Talking," and two more new pieces "Tomorrow" and "Pages." (I wanted to talk about "Tomorrow" but it hasn't been released anywhere I could source from so you'll have to take my recommendation: look it up...if you want, it's very good though.)

"Everyone's Talking" is a sauntering, soft guitar driven piece with a classic sort of sound. The chorus is where it gains the most momentum, due to the more prominent melody and Hersey's incredibly catching performance on the chorus vocals.

My favorite part though is the later break where the instrumental descends and he croons "what do they know." With his repetition and cadence, the words just creep into your psyche, like he's inviting you to join him atop an old brick building, content in his ridicule of the world. It's nice up there.
